Lewis Hamilton has set down the early gauntlet in FP1 for the Brazilian Grand Prix as BT Sport report amongst others.
The Englishman knows he can take the championship fight to the final race in two week’s time in Abu Dhabi if he wins this Sunday and looks to have the bit between his teeth right now.
Hamilton set a time of 1:11.895 in the session, over two tenths clear of his championship rival Nico Rosberg who could only manage third behind Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.
Whilst the Friday practice sessions are not always conclusive this early blow from Hamilton will no doubt have boosted his confidence as he looks for a victory at a track where he has so far not reached the top step of the podium.
The current champion knows that his crown will be handed over to his team-mate Rosberg should the German win on Sunday and so he will be hoping to keep this pace up for the whole event.
