Jolyon Palmer has today been confirmed as Nico Hulkenburg’s Renault team-mate today for the 2017 season as per Autosport.
The English man has grown into the sport this season for the returning French outfit and seems to have done enough in his rookie year to earn the second seat alongside the highly rated German Hulkenburg.
The decision by Renault will now see current driver Kevin Magnusson join Haas GP for next season as the 2017 grid begins to really take shape with just two races left of this current campaign.
Palmer had endured a tough start to life in the sport but has impressed since the summer break with better consistency and recorded his first point at the Malaysian GP last month.
He’ll now be hoping to finish the season strongly and prove that his team have made the correct decision in retaining him as they look ahead to a, what is hoped, stronger 2017 performance all round.
